Transform Your Mindset with Food

Take back control of your health, confidence, & freedom without restriction & obsession

How many more failed diets do you need to admit that this just… isn’t working?

I know, I know, the thing you’re trying next isn’t a diet, it’s a lifestyleYou just have to cut out sugar, gluten, and… nightshades (wait, tomatoes are bad now??), and you’ll finally be free. Right?!

Trust me, I know that SOUNDS good, except…

Every time you promise to “be good”, you eventually fall off the wagon and feel worse than when you started.

I know this because I’ve been there.

I spent almost a decade…

»  Trapped in a chaotic cycle of bingeing, feeling guilty & starting new diets to get back control

»  Completely obsessed with food

»  Convinced something was wrong with me because I couldn’t resist midnight quesadillas & secret trips to the store for candy

»  Having regular emotional breakdowns about my body instead of enjoying my life

»  At war with my body & my thoughts

Every day was a gamble – I didn’t know if I would wake up liking myself or hating myself, and I was constantly on edge waiting for that next slip up.

If you relate to this, you’re probably on the verge of giving up.

You want to be healthy without thinking about it all the time, but you don’t know if it’s possible or if you even have the energy to keep trying.

You want to be healthy without thinking about it all the time, but you don’t know if it’s possible or if you even have the energy to keep trying.

The good news is that it’s never too late to heal your relationship with food

IMAGINE…

» Eating whatever you want and knowing exactly how to nourish your body

» Keeping all your favorite food in the house because you no longer feel an uncontrollable urge to eat it all

» Feeling confident + magnetic every time you walk into a room

» Transforming your relationship food, exercise, and your body

» Having more mental and emotional energy to show up authentically in your life

But first, we have to address what’s getting in your way

(Because let’s be honest, if you knew how to get there, you wouldn’t even be thinking about it still)

So what’s holding you back?

Here are a few of the biggest challenges I see hold people back:

» Guilt & shame…

You can’t control food, you can’t lose weight, you can’t stay motivated, & you’re always fighting with your inner bully

» Limiting beliefs…

Unconscious mindsets & patterns that actually make it harder to control food

» Isolation…

You’ll go on that trip, take that career opportunity, spend time with friends, and take family photos AFTER you lose the weight

» Self-doubt & comparison…

Obsessing over other people’s bodies, food choices, and lives. Will you ever stop caring about what people think??

» Perfectionism…

Nitpicking flaws and feeling guilty if you don’t eat perfectly

» Confusion & fear…

Weight gain, never being able to stop eating, not knowing WHAT to eat, judgment from others, and feeling unhappy in your body forever

Can you relate to any of these? It’s hard to admit, I know.

How a client changed her life…

“I cannot believe how much space my ‘diet culture’ thinking took up! I no longer track my food, look at food as good/bad, but more importantly, this work has created so much more space in my life to actually enjoy things again.

“I feel food freedom, & after 25yrs of dieting, I never understood how that could be possible.”

How it works:

I’m a big believer in the power of group coaching to help you gain clarity, break through blocks, and make connections with people who know exactly what you are going through.

But how frustrating is it to do a group coaching program or even a self-paced online course and feel like you don’t have any one-on-one support or guidance?

Jumpstart to Food Freedom combines the best of both worlds — weekly 1:1 & small-group calls with me, plus self-paced journal prompts, video modules, & activities — to help you feel supported, seen, and guided every step of the way.

What clients have said:

“Working with you involved questioning so much of what I had been brought up to believe in diet culture about my body and food. This process can be uncomfortable and difficult but is so worth it to achieve food freedom

“Whitney coaches with a firm but loving hand and preaches forgiveness and self-love above all else. I am immensely grateful for the tools she’s given me to acknowledge the signals my body sends me.”

How do I know this will work?

I’ll be honest… you don’t! I’m never going to sit here and promise you results without knowing anything about you because if I did, I’d be lying.

What I can say without a shadow of a doubt is that…

if you’re willing to do the work, this program will change your life.

Here’s the thing about disordered eating and body image issues that I wish everyone knew:

if you’re willing to do the work, this program will change your life.

Here’s the thing about disordered eating and body image issues that I wish everyone knew:

Your issues with food are never actually about the food.

It’s about the beliefs that you don’t deserve happiness or confidence exactly as you are. This is what I like to call a “block”.

Blocks show up in all areas of life. For example, you may be feeling anxiety about this program because your block is trying to protect you. And sure, maybe this program just isn’t what you’re looking for, which is cool with me. I only want people who are as equally invested in your transformation as I am. But chances are that if you’re still reading this, there’s a voice inside of you saying that this program is the one. If that’s the case, let’s dig a little deeper here.

One of the biggest blocks that comes up is, “I don’t know if it’s worth it,” which usually means…

“I don’t know if I’m worth it”

This block is often tied to thoughts like, “what if I fail?” or “what if I’m just not ready?” or “what if I don’t have time for this or it’s too much work for me to handle” or even, “what if my body is broken and I can’t ever learn to eat intuitively?”

All of these questions are valid.

They are coming from a place of fear and insecurity because everything you’ve tried before hasn’t worked. The big difference here is that I’m not asking you to try another meal plan or cut out more foods and see if it works this time. I’m asking you to open yourself up to the possibility that

You have ALL the answers you need and I will show you how to find them.

So yes, if you join this program you will learn about intuitive eating and intuitive movement. You will stop binge eating (if that’s something you’re struggling with) and you will develop new emotional coping mechanisms to replace emotional eating. You will learn how to honor your body, celebrate food, and free your mind from the obsessive, restrictive thoughts.

But you will also walk away from this program with so much more. You will embody self-worth in a way that you never thought possible.

You will approach life from a place of abundance, confidence, and peace, rather than from a place of insecurity and desperation.

You will be surrounded by love, community, support, and acceptance every single step of the way, and you will learn how to replicate this process in other areas of your life, so that you can walk away from this program with the confidence and magic that is intuitive healing.

I am looking for people who get that tingly feeling of alignment as they read this.
That feeling of…

“I’m scared and I don’t know how this is going to turn out, but I’m READY to take that risk on myself. I’m ready to say YES!”

If you’re ready to say yes, book your call! Spaces are limited, so you don’t want to wait.

What if I have to eat a certain way or lose weight for a disease?

What if I have to eat a certain way for a disease?

No problem! Intuitive Eating (IE) is great for diseases requiring nutrition changes because you learn to balance eating to manage/prevent your disease with eating in a way that is pleasurable. Not only is it possible, but it’s actually a lot easier when you don’t have the stress of trying to diet on top of everything else. I specifically work with many people who are diagnosed with digestive conditions or autoimmune diseases because they realize how much stress dieting causes them. IE for disease management will never feel restrictive, shameful, or punishing.

The great part about my program is that during the 1:1 sessions, we can talk more specifically about how your experience of intuitive eating can be tailored to your body and needs. This individualized approach helps us weed through all the contradicting advice to figure out exactly what will work for YOUR lifestyle.

What if I have to lose weight for a disease?

Have you been told by your doctor that you need to lose weight to manage, control, or prevent a disease? If so, I am so glad you are reading this. Not only is that not true, but it also is pretty unethical as a stand-alone medical recommendation in my opinion. Here’s why…

Yes, weight loss is associated with lower risk factors for many chronic diseases, but that’s not the full story. In ALL weight loss studies, 95% of dieters regain the weight lost within 3-5 years, and 1/3 – 2/3 of those people regain more weight than originally lost. This happens even in studies where the dieters keep up with the dieting behaviors (calorie restriction, nutrition counseling, regular exercise, etc.) longer than a year. This evidence shows us that diets don’t actually work long-term, so recommending a diet as a treatment for a disease is not actually the full-proof solution that many doctors make it seem.

I am a Health at Every Size (HAES) practitioner, meaning that I take a weight-neutral approach to health. Developing a healthy relationship with food and changing health behaviors has been shown to reduce risk factors for many common chronic diseases, regardless of whether or not you lose weight in the process. If you’d like to read more specifics on this topic, please check out this research article. The point I’m trying to make here is that you do not *have* to lose weight to prevent or manage a chronic disease, nor do you even really have control over whether or not you lose weight (which is the very reason you ended up on this page in the first place).

If you have more questions about this, we can discuss it on our discovery call!

Will this program help me lose weight?

I don’t know! If you skipped the previous question, the short answer is that we do not have the control over our body weight that most “weight loss experts” claim that we do. In ALL weight loss studies, 95% of dieters regain the weight lost within 3-5 years, and 1/3 – 2/3 of those people regain more weight than was originally lost. This happens even in studies where the dieters keep up with the dieting behaviors (calorie restriction, nutrition counseling, regular exercise, etc.) longer than a year. This evidence shows us that diets don’t actually work long-term, which is most likely the reason you are on this page after years of failing diets and weight cycling.

The point I’m trying to make is that I don’t have any more knowledge or control over your body than you do (and in fact, I’ll teach you that you have way more knowledge about your own body than I ever will). Yes, Intuitive Eating is associated with lower weights and improved disease risk factors, but that doesn’t mean that YOU will lose weight.

I will tell you that I see a range of outcomes with the food freedom process. Some people lose weight, some people stay the same weight, some people gain weight, and some people gain weight and then lose it again as the body adjusts to normal eating. These are all normal, beautiful physical outcomes of this process.

You don’t have to never want to lose weight again in order to start this program, but you should be open to the idea of letting that dream go. It’s not that your life wouldn’t be improved (sometimes in many ways) by weight loss, it’s that trying to lose weight has stolen YEARS of your life with no results. Together, we will do the deep work of learning to find acceptance with your body and confidence in who you are as a person, regardless of how your body looks.

Is this a replacement for therapy?

That is something I can’t answer for you. We do a lot of therapy-style work together. I use evidence-based approaches, such as intentional change theory, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Due to financial concerns, some people feel comfortable pausing therapy during our 4-month work together and then continuing once we are done. Some reduce the frequency of sessions they have with their therapist, and others will continue therapy as normal.

What you decide to do with therapy is not for me to decide. I will say that although you will have a ton of support, both from me and from the other members of the group, it can be helpful to have another member of your medical team (your therapist) on board during this time, particularly at the beginning when the emotional work is most difficult.

I’ll also mention that disordered eating and eating disorders highly associated with perfectionism, OCD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions. I have worked with people with a range of mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and schizoaffective disorder. I am not a licensed therapist, and in most of these cases, clients continue therapy as usual during our work together.

If you have a history of physical or sexual trauma and have not gotten help from a trauma-informed licensed therapist, I would urge you to do that first before working with me.

What if I have an eating disorder?

I am not a Certified Eating Disorder RD and I cannot work with people who have a newly diagnosed eating disorder. I work with people who have disordered eating, orthorexia, binge eating disorder, or who have already been through eating disorder recovery but are still using dieting as a disordered behavior. I do not work with anyone who has been diagnosed with an eating disorder in the past 6 months or with anyone who is currently engaging in self-harm behaviors, such as purging, pill abuse, self-mutilation, etc. If you have more questions about where I draw the line, please disclose any information about your current state to me during our discovery call. While my services may not be a good fit for you at the time, we can always make a plan to work in the future once you’ve gotten the help you need.

For more information on how to find a dietitian specializing in eating disorders, please visit the National Eating Disorders Association

Do you take insurance?

No, I do not take insurance. At this point in our medical system, insurance providers do not really understand the importance of long-term care in nutrition counseling. Many insurance providers have strict limitations on the number of nutrition sessions reimbursed, which would limit my ability to help. If you are concerned about cost, I have payment plan options available that we can discuss further during the discovery call.
